對文化局局長的期望
Qualities of the Secretary for Culture
鑑於近日對新成立文化局局長人選的種種猜測，聯席保持一貫開放態度，並重申對局長人選的期望：
- 獲得廣泛的業界認可
- 具文化專業背景
- 與文化界緊密聨繫
- 具備文化視野
- 推動多元文化
- 捍衛文化自由
文化局在香港是前所未有之舉，文化界及市民各界均寄予厚望。
此外，聯席召集人亦已決定將論壇恆常化，促進官方、專業及民間各界溝通，知識為本，深化討論。最新活動消息，請留意公佈。
In response to the recent speculation on the candidacy of the
Secretary for Culture, the Joint Conference keeps an open attitude, and
reiterates that the following qualities are essential to the candidate:
- commands wide recognition within the culture sector
- has a professional background in culture
- is closely connected with the culture sector
- has a cultural vision
- advances cultural diversity
- safeguards cultural freedom
Hong Kong is to have a Culture Bureau for the first time ever. The culture
sector and the public expect highly of it. Over the past 20 years, as a result
of the cooperation between the people and the government of Hong
Kong, the culture and art sectors have rapidly professionalized,
and our society has become energized with diversity. It would be unwise to
hastily set up a Culture Bureau without reaching any consensus on the rationale
of cultural policies and qualities of the candidate. The Joint Conference urges
the government to immediately begin consultation to lay down the policy
rationale and structure of the various departments, so that the public is
involved in the negotiation and planning for the future.
In addition,
the Joint Conference convener has decided to turn the forum into a regular
platform to facilitate communication between the government, and the
professional and other sectors of the public. The Joint Conference will
continue to strive for deeper discussions grounded on knowledge. Please stay tuned
